Improving Sleep in Your Travel Trailer
Traveling in your travel trailer is rewarding and exciting, but it can be a real change from your regular home routine. One area where many campers may struggle is with sleep. It can be hard to drift off to dreamland in an unfamiliar bed at a noisy campground, and the last thing you want on your trip is to be tired and grumpy the next day when you need to be alert and ready to go hiking or adventuring. Here are some tips on how to get better sleep in your travel trailer.
Upgrade Your Mattress & Bedding
The mattress that came with your travel trailer may not be the most comfortable mattress you’ve ever had. Fortunately, many travel trailer manufacturers have upgraded mattresses that you can buy with memory foam or other features that are more conducive to a good night’s sleep.
While you’re at it, why not invest in some higher-quality pillows to support your head and neck, as well as high-thread-count sheets in a cooling fabric? A down comforter or duvet can help to keep you warm without feeling too stifling, too.
Block Out Light & Noise
The bright lights and loud noises you may find at a busy campground can keep you up for hours if you don’t have a way to deal with them. Invest in some light-blocking curtains that keep your bedroom nice and dark while also muffling the sound. A white-noise machine can help to create a more comfortable sound environment for sleeping. Earplugs and a sleep mask are also good investments.
