How to Sleep Better in Your Camper
Your RV makes it easy and fun for you to go on short or long trips with family and friends, but there are some unique challenges that RV travelers face that can take some getting used to. For example, you may find that it’s difficult to get to sleep in your RV. Being in a new place in an unfamiliar bed with the potential for lots of noise around you may keep you up late at night, which causes you to be too tired to participate in all the fun camping activities you want to do during the day.
To help you alleviate some of your RV-induced insomnia, we’ve prepared some tips on how to get better sleep in your camper.
Invest in Sound & Light Reduction
Bright campground lights and noisy people gathering outside your camper, combined with the noises of vehicles starting or animals, may be keeping you awake. To that end, you can invest in some thick blackout curtains that block out both light and some of the sounds emanating in from outside. You may also want to add more insulation around windows and doors to dampen sounds. A white-noise machine and an eye mask can be handy accessories in case all else fails, as well as a simple pair of foam earplugs.
Upgrade Your Bedding
The standard mattress that came with your camper may not be to your liking. Fortunately, most RV manufacturers make other mattresses that you can buy and install in your camper for an upgrade. Choose a comfortable memory-foam mattress that will help you to relax.
Changing out your sheets and pillows can also help. Instead of getting something cheap and economical, why not invest in sheets with a higher thread-count and memory-foam pillows to improve your comfort?
