There are several chores you have to do in your RV while you’re traveling to keep everyone comfortable, and one of the biggest tasks is doing laundry. However, this chore might be more challenging to complete if your RV doesn’t have a washer and dryer already installed in it. Here are some different ways to do laundry while you’re on the road to ensure that you get your clothes and linens clean without spending too much time on this one job.

Wash By Hand

The easiest way to do laundry in your RV without the use of machines is to wash your clothes by hand. You’ll need a few buckets, some laundry soap, and plenty of clean water to do this. It can be helpful to wash a few garments each day to avoid having a large pile-up of dirty laundry to do.

Get a Portable Washer

Compact portable washers can allow you to quickly launder small loads of clothing. These machines may be hand-operated or electronic, and they are usually small enough to fit in a closet when not in use.

Line-Dry Outside

When it comes to drying your laundry, avoid hanging it up in your RV. Lots of wet clothes and towels left lying around your camper will add condensation to the space, which can lead to mold and mildew forming.

Instead, you’ll need a clothesline to put up outside and some clothespins to hang up your wet laundry so it can dry in the sunshine.

Find a Laundromat

If you’re lucky, the campground you select might have laundry facilities available on the premises. Otherwise, you may be able to find a local laundromat in the town or city that’s nearby. You’ll need to have baskets for clean and dirty clothes, quarters for the machines, detergent pods, and dryer sheets, and probably something to do while you wait.
